Requirements

• Trade test in Diesel Mechanic
• Code C or EC drivers licence
• Computer Literacy
• 4-5 Years’ relevant experience in relevant trade
• NTC2 or N2 qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• Willingness to work overtime and outside normal

working hours as and when required

• Willingness to work in all weather conditions.

Key Performance Areas

• Co-ordinates activities associated with specific

functional areas such as vehicle maintenance,

repairs, troubleshooting & fault finding

• Carrying out repairs by stripping, cleaning,

overhauling, replacing and assembling components

(e.g., brake & clutch overhauls, gearboxes, engines,

any other related mechanical repairs)

• Testing vehicle systems, components and isolating faults
• Diagnosing system and identifying incipient and latent

defects on components by visual inspection, performing

functional tests, (including road testing) and

investigation procedures;

• Checking the functionality of replacement components

and executing the necessary adjustment and setting sequences;

• Interprets and co-ordinates specific pre-work requirements

with regards to repairs, planned and predictive maintenance

sequences and guides the activities of personnel.

• Interacting with Stores and checking allocated components

and materials against job cards prior to commencing with the job

• Completes Internal transactional documentation timeously.
